FOREX trading, is it a scam?

I read on newspapers about courses on forex trading where people testified that they earn 300% in a few months using some techniques and computer program.
Is there really such a thing, or is it a scam?
A friend of mine (used to) use FOREX, and it worked for him.
However, 300% in a few months is one of those "rare instances" and you shouldn’t think you’ll be making that much.
There are always people who lose 3times their investment or more with the simple click of a button within forex as well.

Keep in mind NO ONE publishes how much money people lost.

The Forex market is not a scam. But because Forex is globalized and relatively unregulated there are a lot of scammers looking to take advantage of novice investors. Anyone who guarantees returns or baits you in with 300% profits are hyping the realities of Forex. While a well managed Forex account does typically out perform most other asset classes, the truth is the vast majority of Forex traders lose money in the market.
